Milos Duncko

Milos Duncko is President & CEO of Steel Capital Corp., a private equity investment firm that is focused primarily on the world wide steel industry.

  • Mr. Duncko is 45 years old, married with three children, and currently lives in Greenwich CT.
  • He is an American citizen, who was born in Czechoslovakia and graduated from their University with a degree in Economics and Hotel Management.
  • He gained business experience at an early age by holding various management positions in government owned companies.
  • With the help of a mentor, who was the founder of VSZ Kosice, the largest government owned steel factory in Central Europe, he began to learn the steel business.
  • In 1989, he left Czechoslovakia and emigrated to the principality of Monaco where he established a business base.
  • By using his prior experience and maintaining his close business relationship with his mentor at VSZ Kosice, now a subsidiary of US Steel Corporation, he began trading in steel products.
  • He founded the BAAR Group, and as its Chairman and CEO, opened offices in twelve countries for importing and exporting steel and steel making raw materials.
  • In 1992, he came to the United States to expand his BAAR business into a multinational steel trading company, and also to develop the North and South American markets.
  • In 1997, he founded Steel Eye, Inc., a worldwide steel industry business intelligence company. Although, he remains its principal shareholder and Chairman, he has resigned from its day-to-day operations to devote full attention to Steel Capital Corp.
  • In 1997, he also started VirtualSteel, a global Internet portal for steel industry executives.
  • 1999, he launched Steel Profiles Online a web site of Steel Eye, Inc. that provides to subscriber’s detailed profiles of companies in the steel industry. See www.steelprofiles.com.
  • Has more than fifteen years of experience in the Steel Trading Industry.
  • Is considered an authority on Foreign Steel Policy and International Trade Issues.
  • Member of the World Economic Forum.
  • Member of the American and International Iron and Steel Institute for the past ten years.
  • Has first hand knowledge of the world wide steel industry, including major steel producers, and has closely followed their corporate governance, M&A, and financial structures over the past fifteen years.
